Job summary

KFC South Pacific (Yum! Brands Subsidiary) is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Platform Engineer to take hands-on ownership of critical platforms across Australia’s restaurant network.

You’ll ensure reliability, security and scalability while driving automation and continuous improvement. Work across Windows environments, endpoint management, compute, cloud, virtualization and observability, blending deep technical execution with problem-solving to deliver resilient infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in infrastructure engineering or similar hands-on role.
• Strong Windows infrastructure experience, including endpoint management and SOE.
• Cloud/virtualised infrastructure exposure (Azure/AWS/VMware).
• Monitoring/observability with focus on performance and reliability.
• Backup, recovery and operational resilience knowledge.
• Proactive automation and continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of business-critical infrastructure platforms for reliability and ongoing improvement.
• Manage and optimise endpoint, Windows SOE and back-of-house compute environments.
• Monitor platform health using observability tools and proactively resolve issues.
• Support backup/recovery, remote access and device management to strengthen resilience.
• Drive troubleshooting and root cause analysis; implement automation.

• Collaborate with internal tech teams and external vendors on enhancements.
• Maintain governance, documentation and operational standards across platforms.

We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Platform Engineer to take hands‑on technical ownership of several business‑critical platforms, ensuring they remain reliable, scalable, secure and fit for the future.

Working across endpoint management, Windows environments, compute, cloud, virtualisation and observability, you’ll combine strong technical expertise with problem-solving, automation and continuous improvement.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS OUR INFRASTRUCTURE PLATFORM ENGINEER

On any given day you'll:

• Take end-to-end technical ownership of business-critical infrastructure platforms, ensuring their performance, reliability and ongoing improvement
• Manage and optimise endpoint, Windows SOE and back-of-house compute environments supporting our national restaurant network
• Monitor platform health and performance, using observability tools to proactively identify and resolve issues
• Support backup and recovery, remote access and device management capabilities to strengthen platform resilience
• Drive technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis and continuous improvement across the infrastructure environment
• Identify opportunities to use automation and AI to improve reliability, efficiency and operational outcomes
• Partner with internal technology teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical challenges and deliver platform enhancements
• Maintain strong technical governance, documentation and operational standards across your platforms

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for an infrastructure professional with strong technical foundations who enjoys staying close to the technology while taking ownership for platform performance.

Ideally you'll bring:

• 5+ years' experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering or a similar hands‑on technical role.
• Strong experience in Windows infrastructure, with exposure to endpoint management, SOE and compute environments.
• Experience with cloud and/or virtualised infrastructure, such as Azure, AWS and VMware.
• Experience with monitoring and observability, with a strong understanding of infrastructure performance and reliability.
• Knowledge of backup, recovery and operational resilience.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills, with a proactive approach to automation and continuous improvement.
• Experience working with technology vendors and cross-functional teams to deliver technical outcomes.
• Exposure to technologies such as ManageEngine, LogicMonitor, Kubernetes, Docker, Veeam/Unitrends, Chrome Device Management and BeyondTrust/Bomgar would be highly regarded.
