Job summary

Dungog Shire Council is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the delivery of frontline operational services. You will coordinate civil construction and maintenance, open space programs, quarry operations and environmental compliance while ensuring safety and governance.

The role reports to the Manager Infrastructure Services and is part of the Infrastructure & Assets Directorate. The position oversees multiple teams, budgets and contracts, and requires building strong community

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications in civil construction, civil engineering, operations management or related discipline.
• Demonstrated leadership in civil works, open space or quarry operations.
• Knowledge of weeds, biosecurity legislation and environmental compliance.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, contractors and resources.
• Understanding of quarry operations, safety systems and environmental management.
• Knowledge of health and safety, risk management and environmental compliance.
• Financial and contract management including budgeting, procurement and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of frontline operational services across multiple areas.
• Oversee programs for roads, drainage, parks and fields, quarry operations and compliance.
• Provide leadership to operational staff and contractors; manage budgets and contracts.
• Collaborate with internal teams and community to deliver sustainable services.
• Ensure governance, safety and service standards across all areas.
