Job summary

Sydney Water is seeking a Development Consultant on a 24 month fixed term contract in Sydney, NSW. You will support development assessments, ensuring seamless infrastructure delivery and collaborate with stakeholders across technical, planning and operational elements.

You will grow with the team, gain exposure to funding submissions and planning processes, and enhance your stakeholder management and organisational skills. Hybrid work and career development opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and deliver results.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse options and provide strategic recommendations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of infrastructure servicing types (water, wastewater, stormwater, recycled water) would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assess submissions to identify impacts on surrounding environments.
• Provide accurate advice to customers within corporate response times aligning to guidelines, processes and policies.
• Maintain case management documentation with a focus on quality control.
• Facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders to resolve concerns and keep developers on track with deadlines.
• Read and interpret plans, diagrams and maps for property development and infrastructure design/delivery.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and SMEs.
• Develop understanding of funding requirements, assess funding documents and prepare submissions.
