St Paul's Catholic Primary School, Nightcliff is seeking an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Support Officer to deliver technical support, infrastructure maintenance, and system administration.

St Paul's Catholic Primary School, Nightcliff is looking to employ an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Support Officer.

The ICT Support Officer delivers high-quality technical support, infrastructure maintenance, and system administration. The role ensures that the digital school environment remains safe, highly reliable, and optimised for effective primary education. The position requires a collaborative individual who acts as the main point of contact for staff, students, and leadership, while aligning with the Catholic mission, values, and systemic child safeguarding frameworks of Catholic Education Northern Territory (CENT).

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide technical advice and desktop, hardware, and software support to all teachers, administration staff, and primary school students.
• Configure, fix, image, deploy, and maintain desktop systems, interactive whiteboards, classroom displays, laptops, tablets, chromebooks, IP phones and printing hubs.
• Triage, resolve, or elevate issues.
• Maintain school network connectivity, including local server frameworks, wireless access points (Wi-Fi), and internet gateways. Diagnose and resolve complex LAN/WAN, routing, and switching issues.
• Provide user identity administration, including setting up and decommissioning accounts within Google Workspace environments and another school's platforms.
• Enforce rigorous backups, routine hardware cycles, system patches, and basic cybersecurity updates.

Educational Technology Support

• Administer school information portals, learning systems, and tracking programs (e.g., student management systems, cloud learning suites).
• Assist the leadership team in maintaining and testing digital frameworks associated with systemic applications.
• Support teachers during specialised technology classes or digital assessments, optimising hardware accessibility for young students.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential Criteria:

1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or minimum 2-3 years equivalent commercial experience in a desktop/network support role.
2. Demonstrated competency managing Windows desktop operating systems, cloud applications (Google Workspace), and basic network routing/switching. Proven experience with Jamf Pro/School and Apple School Manager (ASM) workflows. Deep understanding of the Google Admin Console, policy management, and ChromeOS provisioning.
3. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to translate complex technical jargon into clear instruction for primary staff and students.
4. Proven capacity to work independently, manage a dynamic personal workflow, and maintain precise documentation under minimal supervision.
5. Full commitment to upholding the ethos, values, and teaching mission of Catholic education in the Northern Territory.

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous operational experience within an Australian primary or secondary school IT department.
• Understanding of data privacy rules and student cybersecurity controls (web filtering, firewalls).
• Current Northern Territory Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card).
• Satisfactory National Police Criminal History Check.
• Willingness to sign and adhere to the systemic CENT Code of Conduct and child safety safeguarding policies.
