Job summary

Alstom is seeking an experienced HR Manager for a permanent position to support the Perth Metronet site operations. Reporting to the HR Business Partnering Lead for the Rolling Stock & Components Product Line, you will support leaders and people managers with practical, hands-on HR support.

You’ll handle generalist HR activities, performance management, governance training, IR/ER matters, and reporting, in a fast-paced industrial environment with unions.

Qualifications

• Hold a tertiary degree in a related field.
• Significant experience in employment/labour law within an operational environment.
• Demonstrate negotiation and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in a complex industrial environment.
• Knowledge of industrial relations principles and practices and their impact on business performance.
• Generalist HR experience across HR management in a matrix organisation.

Responsibilities

• Come with the natural ability to connect well with stakeholders and build trusting relationships.
• Perform day-to-day generalist HR activities.
• Support and coach managers in performance improvement and performance management discussions.
• Provide governance training to managers on employment law and 'Respect at Work'.
• Work with management to improve site communication cascades.
• Support resolution of IR/ER issues and unions.
• Provide interpretation support for legislation, contracts, awards, and policies.
• Support site change management and HR projects with an IR/ER focus.
• Deliver the Performance Management Cycle including reviews, salary adjustments, objective setting, and succession planning.
• Assist with Ballarat-related Compensation & Benefits activities.
• Provide reporting and data expertise to support business justification.
