Job description

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Your future role:

Alstom is seeking an experienced HR Coordinator/Advisor for a permanent, standalone role supporting the Perth BHP and High Capacity Signalling (HCS) projects. Your time will be split between our two Perth offices (St Georges Terrace & Stirling Street), working across both project teams. Reporting to the HR Business Partner for DIS, you will support key stakeholders, leaders and people managers across the ANZ business, delivering proactive, hands-on HR support tailored to their day-to-day needs.

A key focus of the role is giving leaders and managers practical, on-the-ground support to navigate people management, corporate governance, and respectful workplace practices, while helping to maintain a positive and engaged workplace culture.

You will:
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels across your client group
  • Support managers through performance improvement processes, difficult conversations, and the Performance Management Cycle, including coordinating reviews, objective setting, and input into salary adjustments and succession planning
  • Provide workforce planning support to enable functional leaders assess in-house talent and identify options to retain key people
  • Partner with the Talent Development team to help roll out learning and development and DE&I initiatives across your sites
  • Manage day-to-day generalist HR activities including onboarding, promotions, contract management, cost centre changes, resignations, terminations, and exit interviews
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team to monitor recruitment activity and provide regular updates to key stakeholders
  • Support expatriate and visa processes in partnership with the mobility team, and assist with Compensation & Benefits activities
  • Maintain accurate HRIS data and ensure employee changes are processed correctly through relevant systems
  • Provide HR reporting, performance metrics, and data insights to support business decisions
  • Monitor site HR costs and contribute to broader HR projects
About you:
  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
  • Bring proven experience in a generalist HR coordination or advisor role within a similar environment
  • Have demonstrated experience operating within a matrix organisation, with the ability to influence and build credibility without direct authority
  • Possess strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act and the ability to interpret employment contracts, Awards, and company policies
  • Ability to support managers through performance, change, and employee relations matters with confidence and sound judgement
  • Demonstrate strong organisational, analytical, and communication skills, written and verbal, along with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment, managing competing priorities effectively
  • Bring a collaborative, proactive approach and genuine enthusiasm for partnering with the business to drive people outcomes
Things you'll enjoy:
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Flexible working options and additional leave days
  • Opportunity to purchase additional annual leave and novated leasing schemes
  • Comprehensive development programs and award-winning learning opportunities
  • Stability, challenges, and a long-term career path with opportunities for growth across a global industry leader
  • Comprehensive social coverage (life, salary continuance, medical)
