Job summary

Matthews Australasia is seeking a Field Service & Installation Technician to install, maintain, and support industrial equipment, software, and data capture systems at customer sites across Australia. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure a strong first-time fix rate while delivering excellent customer service.

This role involves training operators, completing service reports, managing spare parts, and occasional regional travel with after-hours support.

Qualifications

• Experience in field service, equipment maintenance, installation, or technical support.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Qualifications in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, or related discipline preferred but not essential.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and configure equipment at customer sites.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to maximise reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with a strong first-time fix rate.
• Train customer operators on equipment use and best practices.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and on time.
• Manage vehicle stock and spare parts inventory.
• Provide technical feedback to support product and process improvements.
• Participate in an after-hours support roster and occasional regional travel.
• Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
