Pilz Australia Industrial Automation in Mulgrave VIC is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our Melbourne team to help Australian workplaces run safely and smoothly. This consultative role blends engineering know-how with relationship-building and business development, letting you understand customer goals and propose practical safety and automation solutions.

You'll work across manufacturing, food and beverage, logistics and infrastructure, engaging with engineers, plant teams and senior leaders.

Qualifications

• An engineering qualification or a technical background.
• Experience in technical sales, industrial automation, electrical engineering or machinery safety.
• Ability to explain technical ideas clearly to technical and non-technical people.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proactive, organised approach and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Build lasting relationships with key customers and offer advice that supports their goals
• Spot new opportunities for Pilz products by keeping an eye on market trends
• Understand customer needs and recommend suitable solutions for Pilz
• Run regular Lunch and Learns to share what's new in the Pilz range
• Plan quarterly sales activity and contribute to forecasting and reporting
• Work closely with inside sales, finance and logistics to ensure a smooth customer experience
• Keep learning about new technology and standards with training provided
• Represent Pilz as an Ambassador for Safety through industry groups
• Become a trusted advisor by deepening knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
