Job summary

Embedded Expertise is seeking an experienced automation engineer to drive a Hot Strip Mill Drives and Control System Upgrade project. You will ensure all automation work is delivered efficiently, on time and within budget, providing technical leadership and support across the project team.

You will apply control systems design, Siemens PLC programming, and Citect SCADA integration, with a hands-on approach to commissioning, fault finding, and documenting functional descriptions for project

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy industry or industrial manufacturing.
• Experience on Brownfield projects or operational support roles.
• Practical electrical experience in industrial wiring (with or without trades license).
• Control systems design, programming, commissioning and maintenance experience.
• Integration experience programming Siemens PLCs and Citect SCADA.
• Hands-on commissioning and fault finding ability.
• Ability to write functional descriptions and other technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Engage on a Hot Strip Mill Drives and Control System Upgrade project and ensure automation engineering is delivered efficiently and within budget and time.
• Provide technical expertise to support outcomes in the context of the wider project.
• Work closely with project team including Project Manager and Principal Engineer.
• Produce fit-for-purpose solutions and thorough documentation.
