Job description

UNICEF is the world's largest children's charity working to protect vulnerable children, globally and here in Australia. Run entirely on voluntary donations, we work to improve the lives of every vulnerable child, no matter who they are or where they live. Every day our teams are on the ground in 190 countries working with local partners to deliver lifesaving help and create lasting change. From vaccinating children in war zones to providing early childhood education access in Indigenous communities, donations help us to protect every child, no matter what.

Job Description

We are offering a full-time permanent position, working in a flexible environment, built around the diversity of our team and their needs. A competitive salary commensurate with the not-for-profit sector is offered together with a broad range of wellbeing benefits.

What we are looking for

  • We are looking for an experienced marketing professional to execute and drive the ongoing improvement of our regular giving and single giving retention strategies.
  • Reporting to the Senior Loyalty Manager, you will use data, supporter insights and AI-enabled ways of working to continuously improve campaigns, supporter journeys, retention outcomes and long-term supporter value.
  • Combining a hands-on approach with the leadership of two, high-performing members of the team, you will collaborate across a wide range of areas, including the broader Individual Giving team, Performance Growth and Insights (PGI), Brand, Partnerships and Technology teams.

Your day will include

  • Delivering and optimising single giving and regular giving retention strategies, campaigns and supporter journeys
  • Coaching your direct reports to implement integrated, supporter-centric campaigns across web, email, SMS, telemarketing and direct mail
  • Using supporter feedback, research, data and sector insights to improve campaign performance and supporter experience
  • Refining audience segmentation and personalisation initiatives across relevant teams
  • Embedding structured test-and-learn approaches, campaign analysis and continuous improvement across retention activity
  • Translating campaign reporting and supporter behaviour into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Supporting the implementation of AI-enabled tools, automation, dashboards and data-led workflows
  • Collaborating with the mid-value program lead to integrate mid-value audiences and stewardship considerations into retention strategies
  • Contributing to the day-to-day management of budgets, suppliers, external agencies, forecasting and performance against agreed KPIs
  • Supporting workload planning, prioritisation and capability development across the broader Retention team.

We would like you to have the following skills and experience

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, business or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience in retention, loyalty or lifecycle marketing, including designing and delivering multi-channel campaigns and supporter journeys.
  • Strong commercial, analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to translate insights into measurable revenue, retention and supporter experience outcomes.
  • Experience using CRM, marketing automation and analytics platforms (Salesforce desirable) to optimise performance, segmentation and personalisation.
  • Demonstrated capability in budget management, test-and-learn optimisation and continuous improvement approaches.
  • Strong stakeholder and agency management skills
  • Previous people's management experience would be highly regarded but is not essential.
