Job summary

Queensland Department of Youth Justice and Victim Support in Atherton (QLD) invites applications for an Indigenous Service Support Officer. This Indigenous Identified role requires Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage to support cultural wellbeing and service delivery to young people and families in the Youth Justice context.

You will work 0600–1800, may travel within the region, and must hold a current C class driver's licence. Applications remain current for 12 months.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate cultural capability and commitment to an inclusive culture.
• Ability to assess, plan and intervene for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and families.
• Design and implement individualised case plans and link clients to services.

Responsibilities

• Support youth justice staff and community stakeholders in culturally appropriate assessment.
• Design and implement intervention strategies and negotiate with service providers.
• Maintain case notes and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve outcomes.
• Travel within the region for site visits; overnight stays may be required.
• Possess a current C class driver’s licence.
• Work across spread of hours 0600 to 1800; may extend outside hours as needed.
