Job summary

Children's Ground in Central Australia is seeking a role to address RJED priority areas, supporting First Nations people on pathways to employment and workforce participation. You will deliver programs, provide mentoring, and collaborate with the People & Culture Coordinator to ensure successful outcomes.

The role involves community engagement, office and fieldwork, and working across multiple locations to build employment opportunities and financial literacy support.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with First Nations people/community.
  • Recruitment, training and/or support background.
  • Mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across multiple locations.
  • High-level organisational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems.
  • Current Drivers License and willingness to undertake a National Police Check and NT Working with Children Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support programs that support First Nations people in gaining employment.
  • Recruitment support.
  • Support both future and current First Nations staff employed within Children's Ground Central Australia office.
  • Provide individual support and mentorship.
  • Support participation in Governance to enable staff to engage in organisational decision making.
  • Coordinate and facilitate workshops to ensure success on the job.
  • Pre and early employment support.
  • Coordinate with the hiring divisional Heads to establish and maintain workplans.
  • Meet regularly with local First Nations people to discuss local aspirations; this will inform the directions and responsibilities of the role.
  • Work closely with the Financial Literacy Officer with matters relating to MyGov, Taxation, and money story.
  • Monitoring and evaluation - maintaining records including data collection and program reporting.
  • Connect and maintain relationships with job providers in Alice Springs.
