Job summary

Saltbush is seeking a compassionate Male Mentor to join our Indigenous Skills and Employment Program in Darwin. You will provide strengths-based mentoring and personalised support that helps participants achieve their goals and build brighter futures.

Using a culturally safe approach, you will mentor participants through life and employment challenges, coordinating with Trainers, Course Coordinators and community partners to promote lasting, positive change.

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring or coaching in social services.
• Ability to engage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities respectfully.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strengths-based mentoring and coaching to participants.
• Help participants define and achieve personal, education and employment goals.
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and resilience.
• Collaborate with Trainers, Course Coordinators and community partners.
• Connect participants with appropriate support services.
• Maintain accurate participant records and contribute to program reporting.
• Promote culturally safe, respectful and inclusive service delivery.
