Job summary

Kambu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation for Health in Ipswich, QLD, is hiring an Aboriginal Health Worker (Identified Position) to deliver culturally appropriate primary health care and support to local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Working with clinical and community teams, you will provide direct client care, education, advocacy, and cultural liaison to improve health outcomes. You will maintain records and collaborate with ACCHOs and government partners.

Qualifications

• Must identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Experience delivering culturally safe health care and education.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholders.
• Willingness to obtain Blue Card/Working with Children Check.
• Willingness to undertake Aboriginal Health Worker qualification training.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally appropriate primary health care and support to clients.
• Assist with assessment, treatment and follow-up under supervision of clinical staff.
• Deliver health education and promotion in chronic disease, sexual health, nutrition, etc.
• Act as cultural liaison and advocate to access health services.
• Maintain confidential client records and participate in care planning.
