Job summary

IUIH Institute for Urban Indigenous Health in Queensland is seeking a Medical Receptionist – BiOC North to deliver a high standard of customer service and efficient administration of client appointments, data, and claims.

You will support the Clinic Team, manage bookings, process claims, and contribute to improving patient flow while upholding culturally safe practices within a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Current Criminal History Check.
• Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
• Current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card).
• Current Disability Worker Screening Check (Qld Yellow Card).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to practices to achieve high booking and attendance rates, including checking time requirements for each appointment and coordinating daily lists.
• Ring patients to confirm attendance and manage changes and follow-up appointments.
• Prepare for daily appointments by providing client files and materials to clinic staff.
• Prioritise patients when necessary and screen urgent phone calls.
• Ensure Medicare and WorkCover claims are processed accurately and timely.
