Job summary

Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd in Queensland is seeking a Medical Receptionist – BiOC North to provide a high standard of customer service, manage client appointments, data and claims processing, and offer general administrative support to the Clinic Team. This role supports the Clinic in achieving higher patient numbers, better attendance, and improved billing performance.

The successful candidate will handle daily appointment prep, maintain patient flow, and ensure timely processing

  • Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD).
  • Current Working with Children’s Check (Qld Blue Card).
  • Current Disability Worker Screening Check (Qld Yellow Card).

About the role

As Medical Receptionist – BiOC North, your role is responsible for provision of a high standard of customer service, effective and efficient administration of client appointments, client data and client claims processing; plus, the provision of general administrative support to the Clinic Team. The position will actively contribute to the achievement of the Clinics business objectives, including increased practice patient numbers, attendance rates and billings.

  • Adhere to practices to achieve high booking and attendance rates, including checking time requirements for each appointment, coordinating daily lists, ringing patients to confirm attendance, managing changes and follow up appointments, monitoring and managing patient flow /wait times within the day.
  • Prepare for daily appointments by providing the client files and relevant materials available to clinic health professionals and visiting health professionals.
  • Prioritise patients when necessary and screen urgent phone calls.
  • Ensure PIP, Medicare Claims and Work-cover claims are processed in accurate and timely fashion.
  • Provide general admin support to the Clinic Team including photocopying, compilation of materials/folders, preparation for program activities.
