Job summary

St Joseph's College, Banora Point, is seeking an Aboriginal Education Worker (Identified Position) on a part-time, casual/temporary basis. The position requires Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, a current Working with Children Check, and alignment with the Catholic education ethos.

Qualifications

• Must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (documented confirmation of Aboriginality is a requirement at interview)
• Must hold a current Working with Children Check clearance
• Identified Position as part of Catholic Schools initiative

Responsibilities

• Work with school leadership to implement the Diocesan Action Plan for the Education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
• Act as a role model for students to take pride in their schooling and cultural identity
• Promote welcome and belonging to respect Aboriginal culture and educational opportunities
• Develop individualized plans including cultural, curriculum and career goals for students
• Develop partnerships with local Aboriginal community, families and the school to promote a respectful environment
