Job summary

ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is seeking a Community Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officer (ASO6) to join the Offender Reintegration team. The role supports staff to achieve culturally informed reintegration outcomes and builds partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Role involves providing case support, pursuing systemic cultural engagement, and applying contemporary best practices in offender management for Indigenous clients.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable clients in a criminal justice setting is highly desirable.
• Driver’s licence (Class C) is essential.
• This is an Identified position under ACT Public Sector rules; Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity is required.
• A pre-employment medical is required.

Responsibilities

• Support staff to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients within Offender Reintegration.
• Develop systemic approaches to cultural engagement and stakeholder relationships.
• Promote best practices in offender management with culturally informed assessment and planning.
• Build and maintain relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Elders and stakeholders.
