Job summary

ACT Corrective Services in Canberra is seeking a Community Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Officer (ASO6) to support staff and strengthen culturally informed reintegration outcomes.

You will build relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Elders and organisations, provide case support, and contribute to assessment, planning and intervention at the operational level.

Qualifications

• Experience working with vulnerable clients with complex needs in a criminal justice setting is highly desirable.
• Driver's licence (Class C) is essential.
• Pre-employment medical required.
• WWVP registration under the Working with Vulnerable People Act is required.

Responsibilities

• Support staff to work effectively to improve outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Develop relationships with stakeholder organisations and communities.
• Contribute to culturally informed assessment, case planning and intervention strategies.
