Job summary

Tradewind Australia is recruiting for an experienced Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Worker to join a community-based health team in Geelong on an ongoing locum basis. You will provide person-centred support across assessment, counselling, case management and harm minimisation.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will deliver AOD and psychosocial support, develop treatment plans, advocate for clients, and connect them with health and community services in the Geelong region.

Qualifications

• AOD counselling, case management or community-based support experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of harm minimisation and person-centred practice.
• Experience supporting clients with complex psychosocial needs.
• Strong communication, advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Confidence maintaining clear professional boundaries.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence.
• Ability to obtain/hold a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide AOD assessment, case management and direct client support.

Are you an experienced Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Worker looking for your next opportunity within a community-based setting?

Tradewind Australia is currently recruiting for an ongoing locum AOD Worker to join a well-established community health team in the Geelong region.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work directly with individuals and families experiencing challenges relating to alcohol and other drug use, providing culturally safe, person-centred support across assessment, counselling, case management and harm minimisation.

The Role

Working as part of a multidisciplinary health team, you will provide practical and therapeutic support to people experiencing AOD and broader psychosocial challenges.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing AOD assessment, case management and direct client support
• Delivering individual and group-based counselling interventions
• Developing individualised treatment and support plans
• Working within harm minimisation and recovery-focused frameworks
• Supporting clients with complex AOD and psychosocial needs
• Connecting individuals and families with appropriate AOD, mental health, health and community services
• Working collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors and other community professionals
• Participating in multidisciplinary case management and care planning
• Providing advocacy, referrals and practical support
• Contributing to community education and health promotion activities
• Building strong relationships with external AOD, mental health and community service

About you

We're looking for an experienced and approachable AOD professional who can build genuine relationships with clients, families, community and other services.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Qualifications and/or demonstrated experience within Alcohol and Other Drugs
• Experience providing AOD counselling, case management or community-based support
• Strong understanding of harm minimisation and person-centred practice
• Experience supporting clients with complex psychosocial needs
• Strong communication, advocacy and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Confidence maintaining clear professional boundaries
• Current Victorian Driver Licence
• Ability to obtain/hold a National Police Check and Working with Children Check

Previous experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO), Aboriginal health service or directly with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities would be highly regarded.
