Job summary

Mitran Da Dhaba Melbourne Pty Ltd in Truganina, VIC 3029 is seeking two full-time Chefs to join our Indian restaurant. You will plan menus with senior management, prepare and supervise all dishes, and lead kitchen staff to ensure quality and efficiency.

Applicants must have a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and at least 1 year of post-qualification experience in Australia; additional hospitality management qualifications are desirable.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery is required.
• Minimum 1 year post-qualification relevant experience as a Chef in Australia.
• Additional qualification in hospitality management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and modify restaurant menus with input from senior management.
• Prepare and supervise cooking of all dishes on the menu.
• Supervise, guide and co-ordinate activities of all cooks in the kitchen.
• Oversee and supervise all kitchen staff.
• Ensure consistent and smooth functioning of food production areas.
• Control stock purchasing and storage of all food items.
• Ensure minimal wastage and maintain cost controls.
• Train cooks and junior staff and demonstrate new techniques.
