Job summary

Sunshine Coast Grammar School in Queensland is seeking a Learning Support Teacher to join our primary team. The role emphasizes inclusive education, evidence-informed interventions, and collaboration within the MTSS framework to support diverse learners.

The successful candidate will work with teachers, aides, parents and specialists to ensure access, participation and progress in learning, delivering Tier 2 and 3 interventions and developing ISPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent.
• Postgraduate qualifications in Inclusive or Special Education are highly desirable.
• Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
• Experience delivering high-quality, evidence-informed teaching in a Primary School.
• Knowledge of MTSS, differentiation, and evidence-informed literacy/numeracy intervention.
• Ability to analyse and interpret student data to inform targeted intervention and progress monitoring.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to partner with students, families and staff.
• Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement and evidence-informed practice.
• Genuine passion for supporting students with disability and diverse learning needs.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred). Alignment with ethos of independent Christian school.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions in literacy, numeracy, and other areas of need.
• Develop and monitor ISPs in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Advise and support teachers in implementing inclusive teaching strategies and reasonable adjustments.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
• Engage in professional learning and contribute to whole-school initiatives that promote inclusive practice.
