Job summary

Thornbury High School in Melbourne's northern suburbs is seeking an Education Support - Inclusion staff member to provide specialised classroom and personal care support to students with disability and additional learning needs. Working under the direction of teaching staff, you will help students access learning, develop independence and participate in school life.

The role requires collaboration, adherence to school policies, and duties described in the Education Support Class Level 1 Range 2.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work with established guidelines and coordinate others.
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
• Strong oral and written communication within a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to students under teacher direction.
• Assist with implementing IEPs and Behaviour Support Plans.
• Reinforce learning activities and promote participation and independence.
• Prepare learning resources and assist during specialist classes and activities.
• Provide observations on student engagement and wellbeing.
