Zusammenfassung

Port Phillip Specialist School, part of the Department of Education Victoria, seeks an Education Support Class member to assist in delivering inclusive education for students aged 2.8 to 18 with diverse needs. Hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am–3:30pm, supporting teachers, therapists and allied health staff.

You will contribute to a safe, respectful learning environment, implement wellbeing and educational programs, and provide AUSLAN support as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Proven ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
• Experience in Special Education.
• Experience supporting students with intellectual disabilities.

Aufgaben

• Support students under the direction of teachers and Allied Health staff.
• Assist with yard duty, camps, excursions.
• Support students' manual handling, personal care, behaviour support, transition and safety plans.
• Prepare and organise student learning resources, equipment, and curriculum support materials.
• Support students individually and in small groups up to 4 across a range of curriculum areas.
• Assist with the implementation of students' educational and wellbeing programs.
• Support the emotional and wellbeing needs of the students.
• Ensure work areas, materials, equipment, and appliances are maintained in a clean, safe, and ready‑to‑use condition.
• Work collaboratively across all areas of the school.
• Provide specialised communication support for students and teachers (AUSLAN).
• Other duties as determined by the Leadership team.
