Job summary

James Hardie Industries is seeking an Import & Export Team Leader to oversee daily import/export activities, manage freight documentation, coordinate with carriers and stakeholders, and drive service excellence while upholding safety and compliance standards. This role contributes to supply chain performance, efficiency and customer experience.

You will lead a team in a distribution operation at Carole Park, ensuring accurate order fulfilment and adherence to HVNL obligations, with focus on

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in warehousing, distribution, export operations, administration, or customer service
• Valid Forklift Licence (LF) and demonstrated safe forklift operation in export/warehouse settings
• Experience in Leading Hand or Team Leader capacity is desirable
• Strong knowledge of export and distribution operations
• Understanding of road transport safety, CoR, and compliance obligations
• Experience with packing: pallet configuration, weight distribution, load restraint, export-ready presentation
• Comfortable with WMS/TMS and MS Office (Excel/Outlook) and scanner workflows
• Commitment to safety and HVNL obligations through team leadership

Responsibilities

• Lead a safe and compliant import/export operation with health, safety, CoR, and operational standards
• Monitor compliance activities, equipment inspections, and incident management with continuous improvement
• Oversee import, export and coastal freight with accurate documentation and adherence to requirements
• Coordinate packing, unloading, inventory handling and stakeholder relationships for timely freight movements
• Lead, coach and support the Import & Export team to ensure safety and priority achievement
• Act as the primary operational contact for the team and escalate issues as required
• Support warehouse administration and inventory management, stock control, system transactions, and audit compliance
• Drive continuous improvement focusing on safety, compliance, service quality and customer satisfaction
