Job summary

IFYS Supports by Design in Rockhampton is seeking a Disability Support Worker to assist individuals in Supported Independent Living, helping them build independence and life skills through a strengths-based approach.

This role welcomes experienced workers or those new to the sector, offering a casual contract with potential to move to part-time. Maybo training, sleepover allowance, mentorship, onboarding, and ongoing training support your professional development across Rockhampton.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with disability, either professionally or through lived experience.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills.
• Computer proficiency for documentation.
• Flexible availability to work a rotating roster (may include day, afternoon and active night, sleepovers and weekend shifts).
• Physical capability to perform manual handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals to maintain personal care and cleanliness of the house.
• Plan and attend activities or appointments.
• Assist with skill development for independent living, recreation, learning, and community access.
• Use daily routines to provide hands on training of life skills such as cooking, personal care and budgeting.
• Support and manage individuals behaviours utilising Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
• Complete daily case notes, admin tasks and incident reports.
