Job summary

Brighton Secondary College is seeking a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and deliver programs that achieve specific student outcomes. You will engage in critical reflection and contribute to school policy and priorities while collaborating with staff to improve student learning.

The role includes direct teaching, data-informed planning, and participation in school activities with a focus on inclusion, wellbeing and engagement. A strong alignment with department values is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the curriculum and the ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on learning.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning.
• Experience using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as required by the Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
