Job summary

Brighton Secondary College seeks a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and teach programs that achieve specific student outcomes. The role involves critical reflection and inquiry to improve practice and student learning.

As experience grows, teachers contribute to school programs beyond the classroom, align with school priorities, and mentor others while using student data to inform strategies for improving learning outcomes.

Qualifications

• Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
• Experience in planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies.
• Experience using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students/parents.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with students, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals.
• Contribute to curriculum development, implementation and evaluation.
• Undertake other teaching-related and organisational duties as required by the principal.
• Attend parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Supervise and train student teachers where appropriate.
