Job summary

Department of Families Fairness and Housing is seeking a passionate Team Manager to lead the Intake Services team in Box Hill on a fixed-term basis from January 2027 to April 2028. You will oversee a small team of practitioners, oversee reports from the community regarding at-risk children, and decide if further child protection investigation is needed.

The role requires a social work, welfare or psychology qualification with 4+ years in child protection/youth and family welfare, plus specialist

Qualifications

• A social work, welfare or psychology related qualification.
• 4+ years work experience in child protection and/or youth and family welfare.
• Specialist child welfare knowledge and ability to engage and support other practitioners.

Responsibilities

• Develop others by creating a learning environment and promoting new knowledge and skills.
• Lead problem solving and support the team to resolve issues leveraging strengths.
• Conduct risk assessment and analysis and authorize plans for mitigation/intervention.
