Job summary

Capability HR is seeking an experienced Talent Acquisition Specialist to join a growing, people-focused organisation in Sydney. The role focuses on hands-on recruitment across NSW and Victoria, with an immediate start and a 6-month fixed term.

The position is site-based and operational, requiring fast-paced delivery and strong stakeholder engagement. You'll work closely with the Lead Talent Acquisition Specialist, coordinating candidate screening, interview scheduling, and recruitment delivery,

Qualifications

• Experience recruiting in the commercial construction industry.
• Solid understanding of construction business structures.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and judgement.
• Patient, solutions-focused approach.
• Availability for immediate start.
• Experience with JobAdder or similar ATS.

Responsibilities

• Screen candidates across trades, technical roles, site supervisors, project support, and operational hires.
• Manage end-to-end interview scheduling — phone screens, hiring manager interviews, site-based interviews, and follow-ups.
• Maintain momentum in a reactive hiring environment where requisitions depend on client sign-off and can shift quickly.
• Manage relationships with technically focused, time-poor line managers who may change role parameters or delay feedback.
• Keeping documentation accurate and audit-ready, including briefs, interview notes, and candidate records.
• Delivering a strong candidate experience despite fluctuating timelines and shifting priorities.
• Optional HR crossover — strong performers may pick up basic HR coordination or grow into a hybrid HR/TA role.
