Job summary

Australian Payments Plus is seeking a Software Engineer for the ConnectID team in Sydney. You will design, build and maintain secure, scalable software powering our digital ID verification infrastructure, using Java, Spring Boot, and React hosted on AWS.

You’ll own components end-to-end and collaborate with product, architecture and engineering to deliver high-quality, customer-focused solutions. You will work across the full software lifecycle, apply modern engineering practices, and leverage

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience with modern languages (Java/TypeScript/C#).
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience designing, building and maintaining software components and APIs.
• Experience with automated testing (unit/integration) and CI/CD.
• Familiar with agentic AI tools to support development.
• Proficiency with Git and modern collaboration workflows.
• Experience in Agile, cross-functional teams with clear communication.
• Cloud exposure, especially AWS, and IaC concepts.
• Familiarity with OpenID Connect or digital credentials APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, document and maintain software components and APIs.
• Collaborate with product, architecture and security teams to deliver reliable solutions.
• Implement automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
