Job summary

Brimbank City Council in Melbourne's west is seeking an ICT Network and Security Engineer for a 9-month temporary full-time role. Band 7 salary ranges AU$111,395.28 to AU$123,934.39 per year plus superannuation.

The role sits within the IT Infrastructure team at our Sunshine offices. You will lead the infrastructure across physical, virtual, networking and cloud platforms, provide ICT security guidance, monitor performance against SLAs, and develop designs and documentation for networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in CS/ICT/Cyber Security.
• ITIL and security certifications preferred.
• Local Government experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage and retire the infrastructure including physical, virtual, networking and cloud.
• Provide ICT security advice and response to the organisation.
• Monitor network performance to meet SLAs.
• Identify risks and vulnerabilities and resolve per policy.
• Produce designs and documentation for networks and topologies.

We are currently seeking a full-time temporary staff member to joinour IT Infrastructure team based at our offices inSunshine.

The role

Reporting to the Infrastructure Team Leader, we are seeking a talented ICT Network and Security Engineer whocan bring their expertise and leadership to:

• Implement, manager, and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking, and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.
• Provide ICT security advice and response assistance to the organisation.
• Monitors organisational network performance and makes enhancements to ensure organisational SLAs are met.
• Proactively identifies and resolves network risks and vulnerabilities in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
• Produces outline system designs and specifications, and overall architectures, topologies, configuration databases and design documentation of networks and networking technology within the organisation.

To be considered you will have:

• At least 2-3 years' experience as a Network Engineer or suitable equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technology/ICT/Cyber Security discipline.
• Suitable Infrastructure/Network certifications
• Suitable Information Security certifications, such as CISA, CISSP, CCSP, CCFP, CISM
• ITIL Certification
• Local Government experience is desirable
