Job summary

Brimbank City Council seeks an ICT Network and Security Engineer to join the IT Infrastructure team. The role reports to the Infrastructure Team Leader and focuses on managing hybrid infrastructure, networks, and security to support digital services.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of network experience, a CS/ICT security degree, and relevant certifications (CISA, CISSP, CCSP, CISM, ITIL). Local government experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years' experience as a Network Engineer.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related ICT/Cyber Security.
• Suitable Infrastructure/Network certifications.
• Suitable Information Security certifications (CISA, CISSP, CCSP, CISM).
• ITIL Certification.
• Local Government experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and retire infrastructure (physical, virtual, networking, cloud).
• Provide ICT security advice and response support.
• Monitor network performance and ensure SLAs are met.
• Identify and address network risks and vulnerabilities.
• Produce designs, specifications, topologies, and documentation for networks.

We are currently seeking a full-time temporary staff member to joinour IT Infrastructure team based at our offices inSunshine.

The role

Reporting to the Infrastructure Team Leader, we are seeking a talented ICT Network and Security Engineer whocan bring their expertise and leadership to:

• Implement, manager, and retire the infrastructure (including physical, virtual, networking, and cloud infrastructure) that supports digital services.
• Provide ICT security advice and response assistance to the organisation.
• Monitors organisational network performance and makes enhancements to ensure organisational SLAs are met.
• Proactively identifies and resolves network risks and vulnerabilities in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.
• Produces outline system designs and specifications, and overall architectures, topologies, configuration databases and design documentation of networks and networking technology within the organisation.

To be considered you will have:

• At least 2-3 years' experience as a Network Engineer or suitable equivalent.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technology/ICT/Cyber Security discipline.
• Suitable Infrastructure/Network certifications
• Suitable Information Security certifications, such as CISA, CISSP, CCSP, CCFP, CISM
• ITIL Certification
• Local Government experience is desirable
