Job summary

Brimbank City Council seeks an ICT Network and Security Engineer to join the IT Infrastructure team. The role reports to the Infrastructure Team Leader and focuses on managing hybrid infrastructure, networks, and security to support digital services.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of network experience, a CS/ICT security degree, and relevant certifications (CISA, CISSP, CCSP, CISM, ITIL). Local government experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years' experience as a Network Engineer.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related ICT/Cyber Security.
• Suitable Infrastructure/Network certifications.
• Suitable Information Security certifications (CISA, CISSP, CCSP, CISM).
• ITIL Certification.
• Local Government experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Implement, manage, and retire infrastructure (physical, virtual, networking, cloud).
• Provide ICT security advice and response support.
• Monitor network performance and ensure SLAs are met.
• Identify and address network risks and vulnerabilities.
• Produce designs, specifications, topologies, and documentation for networks.
