Job summary

Manningham City Council in Doncaster East is seeking an Infrastructure Surveillance Officer for field inspections, permit administration and asset protection across local infrastructure projects.

You will undertake inspections, liaise with builders and residents, and provide technical compliance advice to protect council assets while maintaining safety and service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in Asset Protection, Infrastructure Permits, construction or related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction impacts, asset protection requirements, Local Laws and legislation.
• Ability to interpret plans, permit conditions and technical documentation for compliance matters.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement with builders, residents and internal teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication for reports and evidence-based recommendations.
• Administer Infrastructure Permits including inspections and bond management.

About the role

Reportingto the Team Leader Infrastructure Permits, the Infrastructure SurveillanceOfficer is responsible for undertaking inspections, surveillance activities andpermit administration associated with asset protection, vehicle crossings andother infrastructure permits. The role focuses on protecting Council assets,maintaining public safety and ensuring compliance with permit conditions, LocalLaws and relevant legislation.

You will conduct proactive and reactive siteinspections, investigate breaches, assess infrastructure damage, liaise withbuilders and residents, and provide technical advice to achieve practicalcompliance outcomes while maintaining high levels of customer service.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you willdemonstrate:

• Experience in Asset Protection, Infrastructure Permits,construction, civil infrastructure, compliance, inspections or a relatedtechnical field
• Strong knowledge of residential construction impacts, assetprotection requirements, Local Laws and relevant legislation.
• Ability to interpret plans, permit conditions, standards andtechnical documentation and apply sound judgement to compliance matters.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to workeffectively with builders, contractors, developers, residents and internalteams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including theability to prepare reports, correspondence and evidence-basedrecommendations.
• Administervarious Infrastructure Permits, including pre- and post-works inspections andbond management and related administration tasks.
• Ability to workcollaboratively as part of a team and contribute to continuous improvementinitiatives.
• Current Victorian Driver Licence and White Card (desirable)
