Job summary

Pacifico Structural Steel seeks an ICT Customer Support Officer to assist staff with IT issues, maintain computer systems and applications, and support the use of technology across our office and operations.

Based in Dandenong South, VIC, this full-time role (38 hours/week) offers AU$79,000–AU$85,000 per year plus 12% super. A minimum of 1 year ICT support experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of ICT support or help desk experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware, software and networks.
• Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues affecting staff PCs and printers.
• Respond to staff requests for technical assistance and provide clear, practical solutions.
• Install and maintain software, OS and applications for administrative and operations use.
• Assist staff with use of business software, shared files and email systems.
• Support network maintenance, user accounts and network devices; escalate when needed.
• Configure and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, monitors, printers and devices.

We are seeking a capable and customer-focused ICT Customer Support Officer to assist employees with IT-related issues, maintain reliable computer systems and applications, and support the effective use of technology across our office and operational activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues affecting employees’ computers, business applications, printers and other IT equipment.
• Respond to staff requests for technical assistance, diagnose problems and provide clear, practical solutions to minimise disruption to business activities.
• Install, configure, update and maintain approved software, operating systems and applications required for administrative, project coordination and business operations.
• Assist employees with the effective use of business software, shared files, email systems and other digital tools used to manage company information and workflows.
• Support the maintenance of computer networks, internet access, user accounts and network-connected devices, escalating complex technical issues when necessary.
• Configure, maintain and troubleshoot peripheral equipment, including desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers and communication devices.
• Assist with software configuration and basic system customisation to meet users’ operational requirements, while maintaining system reliability and data integrity.
• Monitor IT equipment and software performance, maintain records of support requests and technical issues, and document troubleshooting procedures and resolutions.
• Assist with website updates and maintenance, including publishing approved company information and ensuring online content remains accurate and functional.
• Support routine system maintenance, software updates, data backup procedures and appropriate access controls in accordance with company IT and information security requirements.
• Provide guidance to employees on IT systems, software functionality and safe technology practices to improve productivity and reduce recurring technical issues.
• Coordinate with external IT service providers and software vendors when specialist assistance, repairs or system upgrades are required.

Qualification

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field is desirable.

Skills and Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in ICT support, help desk services, desktop support or a similar technical support role.
• Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, networks and common workplace IT systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, operating systems and network connectivity.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues and explain solutions clearly to non-technical users.
