Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to live and work in the Maranoa region on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster. You will maintain and troubleshoot critical field equipment that supports safe energy production within Origin's Integrated Gas team.

The role requires certificates in electrotechnology and instrumentation, plus HV/HAZ area certification and oil & gas experience. Join a safety‑driven, collaborative team focused on reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and a current Queensland Electrical Licence.
• Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control or an equivalent instrumentation trade qualification.
• Experience maintaining and fault‑finding electrical and instrumentation equipment within the oil and gas industry.
• Hazardous Area (EEHA/HAZ Area) certification and experience in regulated environments.
• Exposure to high voltage systems; HV qualifications or operational experience highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, test and troubleshoot critical electrical and instrumentation equipment across operational gas assets.
• Support commissioning, preventative maintenance and reliability improvement activities.
• Collaborate with technical teams to deliver safe, efficient and reliable operations.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture through permit‑to‑work, JSA and hazardous area practices.
