Job summary

Zerra is seeking a Technical Director for the Western Downs Digital Park project in regional Queensland. The role leads the multidisciplinary design and engineering team, setting technical direction from concept to handover for a hyperscale data centre environment, including liquid cooling and AI‑readiness.

Reporting to the Head of Design and Engineering, you will manage design interfaces, assess risks, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure delivery at pace while maintaining design integrity

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership in design and delivery of hyperscale data centres.
• End-to-end responsibility for campuses from concept to handover.
• Experience with liquid cooling in DC environments.
• Multidisciplinary engineering perspective with electrical or mechanical focus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the principal technical authority for WDDP.
• Lead the multidisciplinary design and engineering team.
• Set and maintain the project's technical and design direction from concept through delivery.
• Coordinate electrical, mechanical, high‑voltage, energy storage, controls and other inputs.
• Understand and manage the impact of design decisions on related workstreams.
• Manage technical interfaces and dependencies across stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership for integration of owner‑supplied equipment.
• Lead identification, assessment and resolution of design risks and issues.
• Ensure the design is AI‑ready for hyperscale data centres with liquid cooling.
• Act as senior technical representative to customers and translate requirements.
• Provide clear technical advice to Head of Design and Engineering.
• Build a delivery‑focused engineering culture with clear priorities.
