Morson Edge Australia is seeking a Hydraulic Technician for Sydney, covering workshop and field service across construction, infrastructure and industrial sectors. You will diagnose hydraulic faults, service systems, and perform repairs onsite and in the workshop, with travel to client sites as required.

The role requires a Certificate III in Mobile Plant or related trade, strong fault-finding, and the ability to work independently or in a team.

We’re looking for a skilled Hydraulic Technician / Field Service Technician to carry out hydraulic maintenance, fault-finding and repairs across a diverse range of industrial and mobile equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified tradesperson with hydraulic experience who enjoys hands‑on technical work across both workshop and field service environments. Experience with mobile plant, generators or heavy equipment would be highly beneficial, with opportunities to apply your existing skills across a varied range of machinery and applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnosing hydraulic faults and carrying out repairs on a range of equipment
• Servicing, maintaining and repairing hydraulic systems and components
• Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and associated electrical issues
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and completing repairs onsite and in the workshop
• Inspecting equipment, identifying faults and performing preventative maintenance
• Working with hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses, valves and associated components
• Travelling to customer sites to carry out servicing, diagnostics and repairs when required
• Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently

What You’ll Need

• Certificate III in Mobile Plant, Heavy Diesel, Engineering, Fitting and Turning or a related mechanical trade
• Previous experience in hydraulics, hydraulic repairs or servicing mechanical equipment
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across hydraulic and mechanical systems
• Experience with mobile plant, generators, heavy machinery or industrial equipment is highly beneficial
• Ability to interpret technical information and troubleshoot equipment faults
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to travel interstate periodically, including overnight stays
• Reliable, safety-conscious approach with strong problem-solving skills
• Current driver's licence
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
