Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a skilled transport modeller to drive forecasting and traffic modelling initiatives in a hybrid role based in Sydney. You will contribute to meso and micro modelling, forecasting activities and evidence-based insights for planning decisions.

Applicants should bring experience in transport modelling, data analysis and clear communication of technical concepts to stakeholders; a tertiary qualification in a related field is desirable.

Qualifications

• Analytical thinking and problem-solving across transport planning and data analysis.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Experience with transport modelling principles and data interpretation.
• Python scripting to support modelling and analysis is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver operational and strategic transport forecasting and traffic modelling solutions.
• Support development, operation, review and continuous improvement of meso and micro transport models.
• Undertake transport and traffic analysis and forecasting activities.
• Build expertise across modelling projects informing future transport planning decisions.
