Job summary

Transport for NSW invites you to join the modelling team to design and deliver efficient, customer-focused transport planning solutions. • Deliver modelling direction and assist stakeholders to confidently leverage modelling as a key evidence-based decision-making tool in strategic planning, business case development, and infrastructure delivery.
• Develop and provide expert advice on model assumptions, apply analytical frameworks to convert customer behaviour, survey, network, and demand data into model inputs, improve governance and testing standards, collaborate across modelling and business teams, and contribute to technology, planning and forecasting initiatives.
• Lead improvements to modelling guidelines and methodologies, assumptions, efficiencies, accuracy and forecasting outcomes in a complex and evolving transport planning environment where stakeholder needs, strategic priorities and emerging technologies continue to shape the future network.

About you

Your modelling, forecasting, analytical and stakeholder engagement skills formed across transport planning, modelling, forecasting, analytics, economics or related technical disciplines will see you excel in developing, testing, and refining transport models, model assumptions, and data products, to deliver reliable forecasting inputs and support evidence-based decision-making.

You’re recognised as a collaborative problem solver, skilled at identifying project needs, modelling input assumptions, scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, and model outputs interpretation.

You’re an experienced operational and/or strategic modeller who leverages your expertise to identify gaps in industry best-practice and develops bespoke methodologies and tools using a range of modelling software packages, programming languages, and data analytics platforms.
