Job summary

Hassell Melbourne studio is seeking a Studio Accountant to lead the financial management of the Australian business. Reporting to the Australian Finance Manager, you will partner with the leadership group to ensure accurate month-end reporting and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, debtor management and project reporting, collaborating with Principals and Team Leaders to deliver strong financial outcomes across local disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in accounting, finance or related discipline.
• 5–7 years’ experience in a similar role; international exposure preferred.
• CPA or CA qualification in progress would be advantageous.
• Experience with ERP accounting systems (Dynamics 365).
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist project leaders with budgeting, forecasting and monthly revenue recognition.
• Manage debtor and work in progress positions; generate invoices.
• Debtor reporting, cash receipts processing and credit control.
• Forecasting updates with Principals/Team Leaders.
• Oversee annual budgeting process and track monthly actuals.
• Project reconciliation and reporting; monitor consultant invoicing and inter-company projects.
• In-house training of Team Leaders in timesheets, costing system and reporting.
• Support Studio Manager/Principals with financial reporting as required.
• Liaise with external auditors and monitor orderbook for audit requirements.
