Job summary

Wood is seeking a Project Accountant to join our Melbourne team on a permanent basis. You will manage project and management accounting tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting to senior management.

You will collaborate with project controls to ensure accurate budgeting and timely forecasts, delivering insights on project performance and acting as a trusted business partner to operational divisions.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree and CPA/CA preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Intellectually capable with ability to apply theory in context.
• Experience with diverse workforces (Expats, Nationals).
• Demonstrated teamwork skills.
• Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn.
• Flexible with a can-do attitude.
• Strong business partnering with operational divisions.
• Proficient in process reviews, change management and process integration.

Responsibilities

• Client-facing finance focal for the contract; escalate issues and work with the client to resolve.
• Ensure monthly delivery of client and internal management reports and analysis.
• Ensure timely completion of month-end deliverables.
• Collaborate with project controls to complete budget and forecasting activities on time and analyzed.
• Provide financial insights on project performance to aid senior management decisions.
• Provide analysis and commentary on monthly results.
• Ensure revenue is recognised in accordance with policy and standards.
• Review and adjust accruals as required; experience with indirect taxes.
