NSW State Emergency Service in Tamworth is seeking a Planning and Research Officer (Clerk Grade 5/6) to support research, risk assessment, policy and planning for emergency management across NSW. The role offers hybrid work and flexible locations.
Temporary role up to 30 October 2027 with on-the-job training and opportunities for extension. Applicants may be based at NSW SES State Headquarters in Wollongong or other regional offices such as Tamworth, Rhodes or Goulburn.
Competenze
- Experience or qualifications in research, risk assessment, policy, planning, engineering or related fields.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with GIS and Power BI or ability to learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Mansioni
- Develop evidence-based emergency management advice, information and risk products.
- Support development and implementation of risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with councils, government agencies and internal teams.
- Contribute to planning and policy initiatives to reduce disaster risk.
