Job summary

The Victorian Government Solicitor's Office (VGSO) is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Public Law and Planning branch in Melbourne. You will provide efficient administrative support to solicitors across a range of public law matters.

Qualifications

• Previous administrative experience in a professional services environment
• Ability to prioritise and effectively manage time to meet competing priorities
• Confident in providing high level administrative assistance to multiple operators in a busy environment
• Be a self-starter who takes initiative and has the ability to operate autonomously
• High attention to detail with a commitment to service excellence

Responsibilities

• Preparation of correspondence and court documents; amending and formatting of those documents
• Electronic file management
• Diary and email management
• Monthly billing and conducting research using online databases and systems when required
