A Newcastle accounting firm is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join a collaborative team. You’ll work closely with Senior Accountants to manage client work, gain exposure to advisory tasks and broaden technical experience.

Ideal candidates have 2–3+ years in public practice, a accounting/commerce degree, and experience with Xero or MYOB. Flexible start times and WFH options are available after probation.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years in Australian accounting practice.
• Tax returns and financial statements experience.
• Understanding of divisions and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements for various entity types.
• Prepare and lodge tax returns, BAS, IAS and FBT returns.
• Manage client files from start to finish and meet deadlines.
• Liaise with ATO and other regulators as needed.
