Job summary

TAL Limited is seeking a Claims Consultant for our Group Multi fund space in Sydney. You will manage life insurance claims from start to finish, delivering a seamless customer experience and interpreting legacy policy terms for entitlement.

The role requires independent management of a portfolio of TPD and IP claims end-to-end, collaboration with external doctors and in-house specialists, and commitment to strong service, timely outcomes and adherence to claims procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in life insurance claims management within a group policy.
• TPD/IP claims experience or workers' compensation/Return to Work with an Allied Health background.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and empathy to support customers during challenging times.
• Solid understanding of injuries, illnesses and treatment.

Responsibilities

• Provide best-in-class customer and client experience with regular claim updates.
• Independently manage a portfolio of TPD and IP claims end-to-end.
• Assess, analyse, calculate and finalise claim payments.
• Coordinate with external treating doctors, rehabilitation consultants and in-house medical/legal specialists.
• Deliver exceptional customer service in line with policies and procedures.
• Participate in case conferences, peer discussions and third-party provider instructions.
