Job summary

Whizdom, a Sydney-based organisation, seeks an experienced Enterprise Risk Support Contractor to join its risk function. The role involves operational risk, governance and compliance activities across BAU and project work, with a 6-month initial term and potential extensions.

Based in Sydney, hybrid working arrangements are available, with a requirement to work from the CBD office for part of the week. Australian citizenship is mandatory for eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational risk, enterprise risk, governance or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, control reviews or other risk management activities within a corporate, government, regulatory or professional services environment.
• Knowledge of risk management frameworks, compliance frameworks or control assurance activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to interpret information, identify risks and develop practical recommendations.
• Experience preparing reports, presentations and briefing materials for management audiences.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to establish productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with identifying, assessing, monitoring and reporting operational risks.
• Maintain risk registers, incident and issue registers, action plans and supporting documentation.
• Support risk assessments, control reviews and risk workshops.
• Prepare risk reports, dashboards, presentations and briefing materials for management and governance committees.
• Monitor compliance obligations and track management actions.
• Provide project and change-risk support for strategic and operational initiatives.
• Prepare governance committee papers and coordinate follow-up actions.
• Support risk culture, awareness and capability-building initiatives.
• Provide practical operational risk advice under the direction of enterprise risk team members.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk management processes, tools and reporting.
