Job summary

Bendigo Bank in Australia is seeking a hands-on Data Governance Specialist to act as the central data governance expert for the Customer Enablement division.

Your focus will be conducting a comprehensive stocktake of Critical and Sensitive Data Elements (CDEs) across key domains, tracing data from creation to consumption, and partnering with Data Custodians to improve quality and meet regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years in data management, governance, risk or compliance within banking.
• Ability to catalogue business data (CDEs) and map data flow.
• Strong communication skills to translate data policies for senior leaders and teams.

Responsibilities

• Data Discovery & Stocktake: identify and catalog CDEs across data domains.
• Process & Value Stream Mapping: trace data creation, transformation and consumption to understand flow and root causes.
• Support Data Custodians: draft access controls and lifecycle processes for enterprise data assets.
• Drive the Data Maturity Roadmap: develop and deliver the Customer Enablement data maturity roadmap.
• Champion Best Practice: review data processes or system changes and bring external best practices into operations.
