Job summary

Mackay Executive in Sydney seeks a Cyber Security Architect for a 6-month contract with potential extension or permanency. The role is hybrid: 3 days in office, 2 days WFH.

You will develop security architectures, provide guidance across cloud and on‑prem environments, ensure controls meet policy standards, and collaborate with delivery teams to build secure solutions. Australian PR or citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in cyber security architecture.
• Experience securing on-prem and cloud environments to PROTECTED standards.
• Demonstrated security design reviews, code reviews or penetration testing on large apps/systems.
• Australian Permanent Residency or Australian citizenship is required to apply.

Responsibilities

• Development of security architectural methods and frameworks with relevant teams.
• Provide security-specific advice across a wide range of technical areas.
• Ensure the correct security controls are in place and maintained.
• Ensure that solutions adhere to security policies and standards.
• Support solutions development to ensure secure-by-design outcomes.
• Assist with development of the Security Service Catalogue.
• Develop security artefacts for cloud environments.
• Assist in determining the baseline security configuration standards for systems (especially cloud-based).
• Work closely with selected security vendors.
